Ludhiana smart city Limited (LSCL) has completed 70 percent of the total projects The Ludhiana Municipal Corporation said in a statement on Saturday that (48 out of 69 projects) are planned under the mission.
The civic body said LSCL has achieved an average physical progress of 82.69 per cent under the task (including all 69 projects) and regular monitoring of projects is being conducted to further accelerate projects.
Civil authority officials stated that 48 projects worth Rs 159.86 crore have been completed, 16 projects worth Rs 580.35 crore are underway and five projects worth Rs 189.79 crore have been tendered. The total cost of 69 projects is Rs 930 crore.
The major projects completed include the installation of LED smart street lights throughout the city, the construction of an integrated command and control center (ICCC), the waterfront projects of Sidhuan Canal (Phase 1 and 2), the beautification and renovation of the Small Rose Garden, and the extension of animal birthing. Control Center (ABC), Renovation of Auxiliary Infrastructure at PAU Hockey Stadium, Illumination of the Facade of the Famous Clock Tower, Upgrade of Fire Brigade, Installation of 100ft High National Flag at Jagraon Bridge, Renovation of Badminton Courts at Shastri Hall, Creation of Vertical Gardens on Pillars South Side Bridge at BRS Nagar.
Civic authority officials stated that a number of major ongoing projects, including the Pakhowal ROB/RUB road project, installation of chain-link fencing around Buddha nullah, and installation of static compressors at 22 locations in the city, will also be completed within this year.
MC Commissioner- Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of LSCL Shena Aggarwal stated that the focus is on sustainable development and various aspects were covered under the mission, which include green cover deployment, digitization and infrastructure development.
Aggarwal stated that the projects are regularly monitored at the local and state levels, and the concerned officials and contractors have also been instructed to expedite the projects.
