WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry recently spoke about opening for The Usos on this week’s episode of SmackDown.
Jimmy and J kicked off the show on Friday, talking about how they cut ties with the bloodline. The twins make it clear that they still love Roman Covenant but will take no disdain from the chief of the tribe. They also called out Paul Heyman for trying to drive a wedge between family members.
This week in Busted opening a podcastMark Henry claimed the Usos did a great job with their opening show. He claimed that Roman had been opening performances for a long time and could hardly speak a few words.
“Unbelievable. This was a rite of passage. You’ve had Roman Reigns for years now, leave opening shows. I’ve seen Roman Reigns not even wrestle, backstage promotion, interview, with him in the office. Paul Heyman speaks, The Usos do the talking and Roman Just take a look. That’s how they used to open and close shows, no Roman,” Henry said.
The Hall of Famer explained that Jimmy and Jey brought the passion to the ring, and this was evident from their promotional segment.
“Now, they opened the series. They opened it with passion, they opened it with fire. They gave you all the information. There was nothing you shouldn’t like about that opening.” (from 17:58 – 18:48)
Solo Sikoa was put into a match with Sheamus for the main event after Ridge Holland planted a Samoan Spike backstage.
The two superstars put on solid classics before the match was stopped. The referee called off the match after Solo sent the Celtic warrior through the barricade, leaving him incapacitated. The paramedics who rushed to Sheamus’ aid were also attacked by the enforcer.
This led to The Usos rushing into the ring and lighting up Sikoa with a series of Superkicks. The former Undisputed Tag Team Champions also hit a Uso Splash stereo on Sikoa as the show stopped.
