The 22-year-old Devraj Patil YouTuber, known for his comedy videos and collaborations with famous Bhuvan Bam turned YouTuber, was killed in a bike accident in the city of Raipur. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon when Patel was returning home after filming a YouTube video in New Raipur.
The accident occurred at around 3:30 pm near Telibandha in Agarsen Dham on a national highway. Patel was riding the MM on a bike driven by his friend Rakesh Manhar.
Giving details of the accident, Prashant Agrawal, Chief Superintendent, District Raipur said, “Devraj was riding a bike with his friend Rakesh Manhar. The handle of the bike hit a truck which was moving in the same direction towards Raipur. As a result the biker lost control and both of them fell off the bike. Unfortunately Devraj ended up under the back wheel of the truck.”
Originally from Mahasamond, Patel resided in Avanti Vihar district of Raipur city. Police Inspector of Telebanda Police Station Omundra Tondon has confirmed that the truck driver, Rahul Mandal, 25, has been arrested on charges of negligently causing death. “He wasn’t driving drunk,” he said.
Since August 2020, Patel has created 108 videos, which have garnered an impressive 888 million views and attracted 440k subscribers. He also appeared alongside Bhuvan Bham in the ‘Dhindora’ web series.
In 2021, Patel had the opportunity to shoot a video with Prime Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Expressing his condolences on Twitter, Baghel shared a video showing Patel hanging out with him and the MLAs. The Prime Minister said, “Devraj Patil, who won the hearts of millions with his video ‘Dil Se Bura Lagta Hai, which made us all laugh, has left us today. To lose such an amazing talent at such a young age is very sad. May God help his family and loved ones to face this loss. Om Shanti”.

The handle of the bike collided with a truck which was moving in the same direction (towards Raipu). The biker lost control and the two fell off. The bike. Unfortunately, the defrag came under the truck’s rear wheel.”
Patel was born in Mahasamond. He was staying for rent in Avanti Vihar, Raipur. Police Inspector Omundra Tondon of Telebanda Police Station said, “The truck driver, Rahul Mandal, 25, has been arrested for causing death by negligence. He was not driving while intoxicated.”

On Monday, Bagel took to Twitter to express his condolences and posted a video where Patel was seen hanging out with Bagel and other MLAs. CM said, “Devraj Patel, who made his place among crore people with ‘Dil Se Bura Lagta Hai’, who made us all laugh, left us today. Losing an amazing talent at such a young age is very sad.
