One person was killed and another member of the same family was injured after the roof of the ground floor of a two-storey house in Bunh Camp collapsed on Monday evening amid heavy rains in the city.
The incident was reported from Dastur Meher Road in Pune Camp around 7 pm. Bonnie Fire Brigade officials identified the deceased as Stanley D’Souza, 50, and the injured person as Jerry D’Souza, 60.
“Two people were trapped under the pitched roof of the house. One person was killed and another injured in the accident. There were two or three other people in the house at the time. They were unharmed,” said Rohit Ranpez, an official with the Pune Cantonment Fire Brigade.
The two people were rushed to Sassoon General Hospital, Ranbis said, where one was pronounced dead while another was being treated for serious injuries.
