Danger! Season 39 kicked off a new week with a new episode on Monday, June 26, 2023 featuring three players. One Day winner Donna Matori, a librarian from Columbus, Ohio, returned to the Alex Trebek stage to play her second game. She has managed to maintain her two-ring winning streak so far.
The short description of the Emmy Award-winning show reads:
“A returning champion and two competitors test their buzzing skills and knowledge in a wide range of academic and grassroots categories.”
In the final episode, returning heroine Donna played against two new players – Ryan Clary, a cheesemonger from Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Caroline Gulick, a realtor from Reno, Nevada.

Donna Matori made her debut on the June 23 episode, where she defeated the Five Days Champion, Ben Goldstein. Today’s episode marked Donna’s second appearance on the show.
In the first round, categories included First Ladies Rhyme Time, Here Comes Summer, 7 Letter Words, UK Constituencies, Lovely Rita and Meter Made.
New player Caroline Gulick has had a great start. I took the lead by giving 12 correct answers and 1 incorrect answer. Returning champion Donna landed in second place as she correctly answered eight questions and gave two incorrect answers. Freshman contestant Ryan Clary was behind Donna giving seven correct and one incorrect answers.
The top ten players in the first round were Caroline at $6,200, Donna at $3,800, and Ryan at $2,800.
In the second round, the categories were 90s names, word wars, scientists, classical music, television, and “P” crossword clues.
One-day winner Donna Matori moved back into first place on the scoreboard in the Double Jeopardy round. Although she failed to be selected for the Daily Double, she scored the highest in the second round. On the other hand, Ryan finds the first Daily Double and gets the second position. Caroline, who placed first in the first round, lands in the third.
The scores for the players in the second round were Donna at $18,800, Ryan at $11,600, and Caroline at $7,400.
In the final round, Caroline bets all of her money. Unfortunately, she didn’t know the answer to the last round and so went home without a dollar. Ryan and Donna gave the correct answer to the last question. Ryan’s bet amount was not enough to defeat Donna’s score, which allowed the latter to maintain her first place on the scoreboard.
Hence, Donna Matori won Danger! today.

It was immediately reported “that the flames were still jumping perhaps 30 or 40 feet off the ground with a length of 811 feet from this.”
The correct answer to the last question was “Hindenburg”.
