Screening for the post of Gram Vikas Adhikari (Village Development Officer) has been conducted by Uttar Pradesh Subsidiary Services Selection Committee (UPSSSC)

Gautam Buddha Nagar Police has arrested four men for allegedly using unfair means during a recruitment exam for a government job in Uttar Pradesh, officials said Tuesday.

They said that three of them were detained in Greater Noida while one was arrested in Noida after local school authorities where the exam was held on Monday lodged complaints with the police.

Screening for the post of Gram Vikas Adhikari (Village Development Officer) has been conducted by Uttar Pradesh Sub-Services Selection Committee (UPSSSC).

Ashok Kumar, DCP (Greater Noida), said two persons were arrested, who had sat for the examination at Oxford Green Public School in Kasna Police Station area.

One was using an electronic device during the test while the other appeared in place of the actual candidate. Singh said the examination center officials had lodged a complaint with the police and action had been taken against the accused.

Police said the detainees were identified as Ajay Kumar and Pawan Kumar, both residents of Mathura district.

Another person identified as Sachin Kumar Sharma has been arrested by Beta 2 Police Station officials from Jaypee International School in Sector Omega 2 for similar offence, they said.

Additional DCP (Noida) Shakti Mohan Avasthi said that one person has been detained from Bhawani Shankar College in Sector 39 Police Station area on charges of cheating during UPSSSC examination on Sunday.

During inspection, it was found that instead of the candidate Ram Avtar, the person identified as Naresh was writing the test.

Avasti said the school authorities arrested him and informed the police after which an FIR was filed and the accused arrested.

Police said FIRs were filed against the accused in both cases under the provisions of Uttar Pradesh’s public examinations (prevention of unfair means) and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
