In a tragic accident, the father of the bride was killed near Kalbalam here by her neighbor, on the eve of her wedding, police said today Wednesday.
Raju, 61, was allegedly killed by his neighbor Jishnu, also an ex-boyfriend of his daughter, after an argument with him on 27 June.
At the time of the accident, Jishnu was accompanied by his brother Jeejin and their two friends Shyam and Manu, the police said, adding that each of them was between 25 and 30 years old.
The victim was hit on the head with a hand shovel and collapsed at the site. Upon being taken to hospital, doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.
They said the exact cause of the fight is not yet known and investigations are still underway.
The four attackers have been arrested, but their arrest has not yet been registered. Police said more details would be available after an investigation.
