Members of the Trinamool Chhatra Parishad (TMCP), the student wing of the Trinamool Congress, showed a black flag to West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose, when his convoy was entering the University of North Bengal (UNB) campus in Siliguri on Wednesday.
Members of the Transitional Military Council also chanted “return” slogans. They claimed that Bose was “running a parallel administration” of Raj Bhavan, and thus they were protesting against his visit.

We are not prepared to allow this ruler to hold a meeting today because he is not prepared to accept an elected government. How can he do it?? He is trying to run a parallel administration of Raj Bhavan. He is keeping the government in the dark while hiring venture capitalists, one student said.. This cannot continue.
Bose was entering campus when TMCP members managed to show him a black flag as well as signs that read “Go Back” despite the massive police presence on the scene.
When contacted, a senior police officer said that although no one had been arrested or arrested in connection with the matter, “we are looking into it”. āWe are looking into it. We are looking into how this breach of security occurred,ā the officer told PTI by phone.
Bose, who is also the Chancellor of all public universities in Bengal, presides over a meeting of 13 Vice-Chancellors from the northern districts of the state on the campus of Union National University.
The ruler makes a four-day trip to the northern regions of Bengal.
