Lionel Messi went on vacation with his wife, Antonella Roccuzzo, and their three children. They are in the Bahamas this summer as he is accustomed to the region’s climate before moving to Inter Miami.
Messi signed with Inter Miami this summer and will join the team in training next month. He will be a free agent after his PSG contract expires at the end of this month and has no plans to extend it.
The Argentine is taking time to calm down after a hectic season in which he helped PSG win the Ligue 1 title. Hilso played a huge role when Argentina won the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, in December last year.
He’s expected to be in the Bahamas for a few more days before moving to Miami, and getting off the field ahead of his MLS debut.
Lionel Messi had to postpone his vacation with Antonella Roccuzzo and his sons because he wanted to play in Riquelme’s farewell match. The Argentine was part of Boca Juniors XI against Argentina XI last Sunday at La Bombonera.
Riquelme took a moment during his farewell speech to apologize to Messi’s family and said via TNT Sports:
“Messi and Maradona are the two greatest players I’ve ever seen in my entire life. It’s great that he’s here. I apologize to your family Leo for having holidays and staying two more days. I’m so grateful you always said yes to me and all the Busteros. I’m lucky to have you here. It’s unforgettable. I hope you You had a great time. I love you so much.”
Lionel Messi also commented after the match and admitted he was delighted to be part of the testimonial. He added that it was time for him to go on vacation before moving to Inter Miami. He said via TNT Sports:
“It’s a very nice feeling to be able to take part in (Riquelme’s) testimonial, with all that it means to football in Argentina, what it means to Boca, to be back at La Bombonera. Now there will be a few days off and then I’ll start at My new city, my new team (Inter Miami), I’m so excited.”
It is reported by Marca that Lionel Messi received a world record offer from Al Hilal but rejected the deal. The Saudi side was willing to pay him 500 million euros per season, but the Argentine wanted to get closer to his land.
