exit R Balki She has worked with Amitabh Bachchan in the films Cheeni Kum, Paa, and Shamitabh, and although they share a solid professional formula, there is still a level of respect that someone of Amitabh’s stature can command. And Big B seems to understand this. Belki revealed a humorous anecdote about how the legendary actor stopped the entire set when he started screaming and screaming for some reason.
In an interview with Film Companion, Balki said he’s not much of a self-promoter, but the photographer definitely has. Recalling an incident from the sets of an unnamed project, Balki said, “Once, Amit Ji was on a set, and he was screaming… He never screams, he’s the quietest guy.”
Balki went on with his story, “Suddenly he started screaming. And everyone was stunned. We’ve never seen him scream. I said, ‘One second, there’s something wrong here,’ so I got into his truck. I asked, ‘Is everything alright?'” food okay? why are you yelling?’ He looked at me, didn’t reply, and went back to his poker face. He said again, “Call that guy!” I said: Amit ji, what’s the problem? What happened this morning? He looked at me and said, “You stupid asshole, I’m a character.”
It was Balki’s last project Chop: The Artist’s RevengeStarring: Dulquer Salman, Shriya Dhanwanthari, Sunny Deol. The film featured a cameo by Amitabh. His next project is part of the new Netflix anthology movie, Lust Stories. Joining him as directors on the project are Konkona Sen Sharma, Sujoy Ghosh and Amit Ravindernath Sharma. Next, Balki brings out Ghoomer, who also features a cameo by his favorite co-star.
