Salman, a resident of Maharajang district, was arrested by the local police and Sashastra Seema Pal in a joint operation.
A senior police officer said a 24-year-old man was arrested on Thursday near the Indo-Nepal border with 89 grams of heroin valued at around Rs 89 lakh in the international market.

Anuj Kumar Singh, Deputy Inspector of Police, Nautanwa, said that based on a tip-off, the SS and Police personnel intercepted Salman near the Indo-Nepal border town of Nautanwa and confiscated the heroin found in his possession.
Singh said the accused was on his way to Nepal from India to deliver the consignment valued at around Rs 89 lakh in the international market.
The officer added that further investigations are underway to find out the source of the heroin and the other people involved in the racket.
