Parveen Singh, who is said to have descended from Mokirian in Punjab, was murdered by a 16-year-old in the city of Hesperia in San Bernardino Province.

On June 29, a convenience store employee of Indian origin, Parveen Singh, was shot dead at a gas station in the US state of California.

On Thursday evening, deputies from the Hesperia Sheriff’s Station responded to reports of a shooting at a Mobil gas station on Main Street at approximately 6:21 p.m. (local time).

On arrival, the deputies discovered Singh lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital but did not survive his injuries.

Local television station KTLA 5 reported that during the investigation, it was determined that an armed suspect entered the store, committed an armed robbery, and subsequently fled the scene.

The suspect, a 16-year-old juvenile, was arrested by deputies about a block away.

The suspected juvenile was arrested and later confined to the High Desert Juvenile Hall in Apple Valley.

The case is still under investigation.

US law enforcement agencies are urging people with additional information related to the case to come forward.
