Among the buzz leading up to a Premium Money in the Bank live event, the former WWE superstar claimed that a controversial moment from the 2017 Money In The Bank ladder match was MITB’s best moment ever.

This year’s Money In The Bank PLE originates from the O2 Arena in London. It marks the 14th edition of the Premium Live event and will crown the first Mr. and Miss MITB since the brand split and introduce the new men’s and women’s titles.

This year’s event will see Ricochet, Shinsuke Nakamura, L.A. Knight, Santos Escobar, Butch, Damien Priest and Logan Paul battle for the men’s prize. Meanwhile, the women vying for the briefcase are Zelina Vega, Becky Lynch, Zoe Stark, Bayley, Eyo Sky, and Trish Stratus.

Just hours before this year’s PLE kicks off, former WWE star James Ellsworth took to his Twitter account to share what he believes is the best moment in MITB history.

The moment he referenced was when he interfered in the women’s ladder match, winning Carmella’s briefcase. Later that week, the Queen of Staten Island was stripped of the briefcase, as all the women once again competed for it in a ladder match.

Did Carmella win the first ever women’s prize money in the Money in the Bank ladder match?

In 2017, Carmella became the first woman to win the prestigious bag. Despite being stripped of the briefcase due to James Ellsworth, she went on to win the rematch as well.

Recently, WWE posted a playlist featuring the best moments Superstars have produced with the briefcase. The company’s YouTube channel claimed that Alexa Bliss was the first woman to win the match.

A fan pointed out the error and the tweet caught Carmella’s attention. The former SmackDown Champion didn’t mince her words and shared her thoughts on being removed from the roster.
