ISLAMABAD: Former captain of the Pakistan cricket team Javed Miandad said he helped Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan become prime minister, but regretted, ARY News reported on Saturday.
During an interview with ARY News, cricketer Javed Miandad revealed that he helped the PTI chief to become the chief minister but regretted that he never thanked him.
While answering a question, he said that my father was very fond of cricket, “Me and all my brothers play in the streets as well as on the roof.”
Whenever he plays for the national team, Javid Miandad said, he tries to keep the margin to a minimum if the team loses, adding that none of the players objected to the captaincy of the team, according to ARY News.
Imran Khan became the Prime Minister of Pakistan in August 2018 and served the country for more than 3 years but before he could complete his fourth year, in April 2022, a motion of no confidence removed the PTI chief from office.
