Liverpool are reportedly increasing their interest in OGC Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram amid interest from Premier League rivals Newcastle United. Thuram is one of several midfielders linked with a move to Liverpool in recent weeks.

According to French journalist Rudy Galletti, the Reds are looking to secure a deal with Nice as they expect competition from the Magpies.

“Liverpool is speeding things up for Thuram’s guard,” Galetti wrote on Twitter.

The Reds have already signed Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton & Hove Albion and have also reportedly applied the £70m release clause for RB Leipzig midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai.

Szoboszlai has also been a target for Newcastle United, but Jurgen Klopp’s side have seemingly eclipsed their Premier League rivals with the signing of the Hungary captain.

With the addition of Szoboszlai and Mac Allister, Liverpool have greatly improved their midfield ranks. Thuram could be next in line to join Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Szoboszlai and Mac Allister are both attack-minded midfielders, while Thuram is an attacking and defensive midfielder. He is blessed with a 6ft 4in frame and is quite imposing physically but also excels technically.

Khybren Thuram, son of French legend Lilian Thuram and younger brother of Inter Milan’s Marcus Thuram, came through the youth ranks at Monaco but made his name at Nice. He has already made 138 appearances for the Ligue 1 team so far and also earned his first cap for France.

Thuram participated 48 times in various competitions with Nice last season, scoring two goals while providing eight assists. At just 22 years old, he has plenty of room to develop and could be a strong long-term addition to Liverpool.

Milan is preparing to move to target Liverpool – reports

AC Milan are reported to be preparing a move for Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch, a player who has been linked with Liverpool this summer. According to the Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, the Rossoneri They made their interest known in Holland.

Athletic claimed in June that Jurgen Klopp’s side were in talks with the former Ajax playmaker over a deal this summer. However, their interest in the 21-year-old appears to have waned.

Gravenberch joined Bayern Munich in a €19m deal last summer from Ajax, but faced a difficult debut campaign at the Allianz Arena. He made just three Bundesliga appearances in the 2022-23 season and is believed to be considering an exit.
