For Peace, Oyeke said on Saturday that she was deeply shocked and deeply frustrated by the ongoing ethnic clash.

Manipur Governor Anusuya Oyeke has urged the women of the state to stop blocking security forces on the roads.

Oyeke, who advocates for peace, said on Saturday that she was deeply shocked and frustrated by the ongoing ethnic clash.

The governor’s statement came after the forces reported several incidents of road closures in the sedition-torn state during security operations.

“I, from the bottom of my heart, appeal to all of you, especially mothers and sisters, to stop obstructing the security forces on the roads while carrying out their responsibilities for the safety of the people of the state,” she said.

“Most importantly, everyone should not believe in spreading baseless rumors and should always try to stop them. All issues can and should be resolved through peaceful dialogue to restore the previous peaceful atmosphere of the state,” she added.
