An alleged sexual assault victim of Kevin Spacey said the “slippery” Hollywood actor tried to “groom him” before repeatedly groping him later, a London court said on Monday.
Spacey, 63, is on trial at Southwark Crown Court for twelve allegations of historic sex offenses against four men, who were in their 20s and 30s, which are said to have occurred between 2001 and 2013.
He denied all charges and his lawyer said last week at the start of the trial that the jury would hear some “damned lies”.
On Monday, the court was shown a recorded police interview with the first of the alleged victims. The man said the actor assaulted him on as many as 12 occasions over a period of about four years in the early 2000s, grabbing their “private areas” when they were alone, such as in a car or elevator.

After two to three weeks of being with Spacey, the actor began rubbing the man’s legs and neck while driving, before later beginning to grope or force the man’s hand into his genitals, he said.
“He was about to take care of me from the start,” said the man in the interview.
The alleged victim, whose identity was not revealed, said the “sensitive” actor once grabbed his privates so hard when he was driving to a party thrown by singer Elton John that he almost crashed into the car.
Describing himself as a “man’s man”, the accuser recounted that he threatened to evict the actor if he did it again, to which Spacey replied “This is a turn-on for me”.

He described Spacey as a “slippery”, difficult person, a “promiscuous person” who is very confused about his sexuality. The man said Spacey’s behavior was an open secret at the London Old Vic theatre, where he had worked for more than a decade.
“It was known that he was clearly not good, so to speak,” said the man.
The trial is scheduled to last about four weeks.
