Following Go First’s decision to cancel flights and file for bankruptcy, several crew members who were on layovers were stranded in and out of the country, CNN-News18 sources report.

Passengers were also left helpless after the company’s announcement of the financial crisis.

Gurvinder Singh, a passenger in Amritsar, said, “I have my flight to Mumbai, when I got to the airport, there was no one at the desk… We asked to adjust us on other flights, but the airline is only talking about bringing us back.”

Another female passenger, who booked her ticket with Go First, said, “Our flight got canceled all of a sudden. They should have given us another flight. They are telling us they will refund us after 7 days.”

Due to operational reasons, Go First said all flights on May 3, 4 and 5 were cancelled. The Mumbai-based low-cost carrier also stopped taking flight bookings for the next two days.

Meanwhile, Surat airport manager Rupesh Kumar informed that two Go First flights – one from Srinagar to Mumbai and the other from Delhi to Mumbai – diverted and landed at Surat airport between 6:30pm to 7pm. All passengers are still on board. “The reason for the drop is not clear,” he added. years.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation issued a show reason notice to Go First after the airline canceled new bookings.

“No prior notifications were given to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation regarding such cancellations which are not in accordance with the terms of schedule approval. Consequently, Go First failed to communicate in writing the cancellations and the reasons therefor. Go First did not adhere to the approved schedule which may lead to Disturbing passengers and therefore violating the provisions of CAR, Section 3, Series M, Part IV,” read the notice.

“Go First is hereby requested to show why no appropriate action was taken against the airline for the aforementioned breach. The response of the airline will reach this office within 24 hours otherwise the matter will be handled unilaterally.”

The airline regulator has also asked Go First to submit its action plan to operate flights according to the approved schedule from May 5.
