The World of Warcraft: Dragonflight 10.1 update is finally out, and there’s a huge amount of content for players to enjoy in the largest selection of the new chapter. However, new gameplay elements, mounts, and quests aren’t the only things that have made their way into the MMO with Embers of Neltharion, as some players seem to be experiencing a fair amount of performance issues after the new update as well.

@employee How long is the change of faction? I’ve been stuck on my mains for 2 hours now and still being treated..

One of the most common errors that seems to make things more difficult for the community is the “stuck on changing factions” error. Basically this happens when you try to change factions, and the process seems to get stuck there for hours, and in some cases, changing factions fails completely.

What makes it one of the most annoying bugs to deal with in the game is the lack of permanent solutions available to players, apart from some temporary solutions.

Hey @employee I tried to use my faction change code and… well this is the first character I ever made in 2004, I hope he’s okay… login fails if I try to login too.

Hence, today’s guide will go over some of the things that you can do to deal with the “Stuck on Faction Change” error in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight 10.1.

Fixed “Stuck on Faction Change” bug in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight 10.1

As mentioned, no permanent solution will help you resolve the “Stuck on Faction Change” error in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight 10.1. However, here are some things you can try to deal with:

1) Wait for the correction

@employee We are looking into reports that character services are taking longer than they should be. I don’t have any additional information, but we are aware of it and are working on it. ~ v

The developers are aware of the problem many are having with faction changes, which is why it is very likely that they will come up with a potential hotfix or patch soon. While it’s uncertain how long it will take to get things right, it will still be one of the best solutions to problems.

2) Restart the game

If you don’t want to wait for the fix, the best thing you can do is try turning off and restarting the game from the Battle.net client. While it may not seem like a viable solution at first, many in the community reported that restarting the game helped temporarily resolve the “Stuck on Faction Change” error in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight 10.1.

3) Scan and repair files

Another alternative that you can try is to check and repair the corrupted files in the World of Warcraft installation directory. Selecting the game and then clicking Settings will find the “scan and fix option” in the Battle.net client.

When you select it, it will start a process that goes over all the files in the installation directory and repairs those that may be corrupt.

It is possible that some files may have been corrupted during the 10.1 patch process, and this method will replace them with newer ones.
