It will be an exciting fight when he locks horns with American phenom Ty Rotolo in a superstar wrestling match this week, said Rainier De Ridder, the world middleweight champion, especially because he believes they have similar grappling styles.
The two will be part of ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video on May 5, the first ever live event for ONE Championship in the US, happening at 1stBank Center in Colorado.
In an interview with ONE Championship, Reinier de Ridder said he expected a back-and-forth with Tye Ruotolo with their many identical moves.
The Dutch Knight said:
“I think we might be very similar. We hit a lot of the same moves. We both base our game on stand-up. We’re both interested in clearing things up and different things. I think there are more similarities in our games than differences.”
ONE Fight Night 10 will begin a “redemption round” for Reynier De Ridder after he suffered his first-ever career defeat in mixed martial arts in December, when he lost the ONE Light Heavyweight title by knockout to Russia’s Anatoly Malykhin.
Against Tye Ruotolo, he is out to get back to his winning ways while also dealing with his opponent’s first loss under the ONE Championship.
To see his goal through, Reynier De Ridder made sure he had plenty of time to prepare, train in different gyms, and get input from some of the best athletes in the game, including legendary fighter champion Georges St-Pierre.
ONE Fight Night 10 will be broadcast live and free to North American fans with an active Prime Video subscription.
