After action was taken against the accused constable, Aparna Kaushik, DCP Central, Lucknow said, “Swift action was taken, and it has been stopped with immediate effect. A case has been registered against him and further action is being taken.”
Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested one of their policemen after he was caught stalking a schoolgirl and tricking her into engaging in dialogue with him in Sadar district of Lucknow. The police move came after a video clip of the accused policeman, Shahadat Ali, following and harassing a schoolgirl, went viral on social media, after which the girl’s parents filed a lawsuit.

Another woman and the person who made the video followed him. The woman confronted the policeman and asked for the number of his car, to which he replied that it was an electric vehicle and not in it. The woman who made the video was heard accusing him of stalking girls in the area every day.
After action was taken against the accused constable, Aparna Kaushik, DCP Central, Lucknow, he said, “If action is taken quickly, it is stopped immediately. A case has been registered against him and further action is being taken.”
“A case has been registered under the appropriate sections of the IPC to deal with harassment by a civil servant and also the provisions of the POCSO Act have been imposed on the accused,” said Hirdesh Kumar, DCP East Lucknow.
Sadaqat Ali, now attached to the police control room, was posted to the local PGI.
