So far, nearly 20,000 civilians have been evacuated from the affected areas of the state.
The Indian Army said that amidst the ongoing clashes and violence in Manipur, approximately 11,500 people had been shifted to safety at Army Headquarters and Assam Rifles, where they were provided with accommodation.
Nearly 1,000 people were also evacuated on Friday and housed in Cachar district in Assam state, even as rescue operations continue in sensitive areas.

So far, nearly 20,000 civilians have been evacuated from the affected areas of the state.
More than 9,000 people have been displaced since clashes erupted on Wednesday between tribes and the majority Myyei community in Manipur.
What has happened since the outbreak of violence?
Since Wednesday, a series of counter-attacks by rival communities have continued in response to previous attacks after the Naga and Koki tribes staged a “tribal solidarity march”.
Currently, Imphal Valley was calm but tense on Friday. However, sporadic gun battles between armed groups and security forces were reported from the hilly areas surrounding the valley.
How do the authorities manage the situation?
To address the situation, at least five Deputy Inspector General (DIG), seven Senior Police Officers (SSP) and SP officers of the Central Reserve Police Force have been tasked with coordinating the deployment of various security forces in violence-hit Manipur, according to official sources. news agency PTI.
The center rushed in about 20 new Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), including the CRPF and the BSF, in the wake of violence between clans and the majority Meitei community that displaced more than 9,000 people from their villages.
Other evacuations
Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga said on Friday that his government is taking steps to evacuate people from the state who are stranded in violence-hit Manipur.
Zoramthanga also ensured the safety of the Manipur people living in Mizoram.
“Efforts are underway to charter flights to evacuate residents of the state, especially students and staff who are stranded in the neighboring state,” Mizoram Chief Minister said in a statement.
