Chief Minister of Jharkhand Hemant Surin arrived in Dhandposh village on the outskirts of Rairangpur town on Friday after President Draupadi Mormo paid tribute to the Santal scholar.
Hemant Surin, Chief Minister of Jharkhand, was paraded with black flags as he visited the Pandit Raghunath Murmo memorial in Odisha’s Mayurbhang district to pay his respects to the tribal icon who developed the first Czech script for the Santali language.
Surin arrived in Dhandposh village on the outskirts of Rairangpur town on Friday after President Draupadi Mormo paid tribute to the Santal scholar.
Soon, former MP Salkhan Murmo led his supporters to start the demonstration, claiming that Surin was working against the interests of the tribes.
They raised black flags to the chief minister of Jharkhand, in addition to raising slogans against him. However, the police chased them away.
