With 2,380 new cases, the total Covid-19 toll for the country has risen to 4.49 crore (4,49,69,630). The death toll rose to 5,31,659 with 15 deaths, data updated at 8 a.m. said.

On Sunday, India recorded 2,380 new COVID-19 infections, while the number of active cases fell to 27,212 from 30,041 a day earlier, according to data from the Federal Ministry of Health.

With the new cases, the tally of Covid-19 rose to Rs 4.49 crore (4,49,69,630). The death toll rose to 5,31,659 with 15 deaths, said the data updated at 8 a.m.

The number of active cases reached 27,212, constituting 0.06 percent of the total number of infections. The ministry said the national recovery rate from Covid-19 was recorded at 98.75 percent.

The number of people who recovered from the disease rose to 4,44,10,738, while the case fatality rate reached 1.18%.

According to the ministry’s website, 220.66 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccines have so far been administered under the nationwide vaccination drive.
