Kangana Ranaut is known for her bold and honest statements, especially when she talks about her struggles. In a recent interview, Kangana revealed that she came to Mumbai for a saree catalog shoot and refused to go back to her agency in Delhi. She even rips up her return ticket to stay behind. The reason she did this was because people did not treat her kindly in Delhi and were insulting her because of her height.
“In 2004, I came to Mumbai for a modeling assignment and then threw away the phone my agency gave me. When they called me (to Delhi) I tore up my ticket. I told them I didn’t want to come back. Mujji Woh Kam Karna Hi Nahi Hai Kyunki Mujji Woh Humcha Modeling Lee Nisha Decat Rhti Al (I didn’t want to work there because I was constantly humiliated), ” Kangana Joint, as reported by the Hindustan Times.
She added that in Delhi, most of the girls on the ramp were taller than 5’11, while she was around 5’7. The Queen’s representative said,Major sarahuddin baithi rehti thi. Mujhe kehte hum aaj bhi kam nahi mela tomi, tharara koch nahi hoon wala modeling min (In order to become a model in Delhi, I had to be 5’11-6ft, but I was 5’7. I used to sit all day and be told I wasn’t good at anything.) After that, I started getting catalog(s) and ads where I had to get behind the others. I came to Mumbai to shoot a catalog of saree. But, it’s okay, she was helping me with my expenses at that time.”
Kangana Ranaut said that she stayed in Mumbai after the shoot and started auditioning for acting roles. She landed her first movie Gangster (2006) with Emraan Hashmi and Shiny Ahuja. After that, she went on to do some acclaimed work in Queen, Fashion, Woh Lamhe, Tanu Weds Manu, Panga, and more. The actor has a series of films currently in the pipeline, including Emergency, Tejas, Chandramukhi 2, Manikarnika Returns: The Legend of Didda, and The Incarnation: Sita.
