the New York Mets They struggle to start the month of May. They were playing uninspired baseball as they were swept by the Detroit Tigers earlier in the week.

They started a series against the Colorado Rockies on Friday and escaped with a 1-0 win. They were not so lucky in Saturday’s game as they lost 5-2. Tylor Megill only lasted 4.2 innings innings pitched, as the Rockies reached him early.

The Mets just couldn’t get that hit at the right time that they needed. They were 0-6 with runners in scoring position and seven men left on base. It’s hard to win matches when you’re left with that many.

Mets hitters couldn’t get to Austin Jumper on Saturday. He checked them out, batted six innings and struck out three batters. Colorado shortstop Ezequiel Tovar was the only player to homer for both sides.

One fan tweeted: “Vog has to go.

Mets You must go Vog. Unfortunately Gilmore too. Fam…..obviously. Let the fan advance. Same production at this point.

“Absolute trash fire for a list,” another fan tweeted.

Mets An absolute trash fire to list.

Mets Sitting here in Citifield feels like Mets really lost.

Mets Hit change coach. now

New York Mets fans can’t believe their team lost to the Colorado Rockies. It should be an easy win for this club.

Mets The highest payroll and one of the worst teams in the NL

Mets This is a pathetic baseball team. Poorly built lineup. No one can strike for power other than Alonso. Rotation stinks. This team is very boring to watch this year. Nowhere near the Braves level and nowhere near the WS caliber

Mets It’s another no hits game with RISP.

Mets Marte hits 213 Lindor hits 222 Canha hits 223 Escobar hits 159 Guillorme hits 213 Pham hits 220 Nido hits 118 But Mauricio and Vientos aren’t ready and can’t contribute This team is a total disgrace of $400 million in payroll!

Mets They’re starting to feel like they’ve outgrown last year

Fans are pressing for some change. They’d love to see some leads called upon to give this team the spark they need.

The New York Mets were disappointing

There was a lot of expectation from the New York Mets before the season even started. They’ve gained a lot of momentum with the players they brought in over the offseason.

Fans were over the moon when they learned they had signed Justin Verlander to a two-year, $86.6 million contract. He started the season at IL with a shoulder problem. He made his season debut earlier this week against the Detroit Tigers in a 2-0 loss. He didn’t throw badly. He couldn’t get any running support.

The Mets have a few streaks that could let them flip it. After their series with the Rockies ended on Sunday, they began a three-game series with the Cincinnati Reds. Next, the team travels to Washington to take on the Nationals in a four-game series. You want these teams to play when you’re in the doldrums.

Hopefully, the team can figure that out during that series because a real test awaits them soon. They take on the Tampa Bay Rays on May 16 for a three-game series.
