News 18 spoke to a refugee who had been staying with his eight family members in a camp for the past four days. With his safety in mind, News18 refrains from naming him or his camp.
“On that day, many miscreants gathered and we fled. They burned our house. I fled with my family. The security forces rescued us and brought us here,” he told News18.
The forces are trying to provide basic facilities for those in the camp. “There are a lot of people here. The government is trying, but sometimes there isn’t enough food. The food is served on a first come, first served basis.”
While no violence has broken out in the past 24 hours, the question is how long can these people stay in the camps? “I don’t know how. My house burned down. I’m not sure where I can go now. I can’t go back to areas controlled by other communities at a time when more people are coming. We are creating space in the land outside the camp. We used to coexist, and we hope you will come back.” those days “.
No less than 125 army columns are working relentlessly to rescue people and take them to safer places. The administration is taking steps to restore peace. Peace committees were established.
