Sean O’Malley entered the Octagon after UFC 288 faced off in the main event between Aljamain Sterling and Henry Cejudo on Saturday night. .
While Cejudo did not seem to have lost any advantage due to the long layoff, Sterling outperformed “Triple C” in the ground exchanges early on. The former Olympic gold medalist began to defend his takedowns better as the fight progressed, even landing a few of it. The Funk Master finally settled a contentious split decision in a showdown that could easily have gone either way.
Sean O’Malley, who was present on Team Cage, joined Sterling’s post-fight interview, which led to a heated exchange inside the cage. She repeated the word “suga” over and over again:
“You better look better than that.”
he added:
“You looked like a s***. You better be able to drop real weight soon.”
Sterling rose:
“So why are you running?. Why did you turn down the title shot? That’s what I thought. Because I’m going to drag your ass up and down this octagon. … Get that piece out of my cage.”
Meanwhile, Sterling’s close ally and fellow bantamweight contender Merab Dvishvili very lightheartedly stole O’Malley’s jacket and put it on.

Looks like Sean O’Malley saved the UFC 288 show
The UFC 288 card, which fell at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, wasn’t the biggest of the cards to begin with. Losing two preliminary bouts less than 48 hours before fight night did not increase the card’s popularity.
The half-hearted decision fighting in main and co-events seems to have left UFC fans wanting. According to some, the day was saved by the appearance of the promotion’s new cash cow, Sean O’Malley. Merab Dvalishvili and the others had fun stealing the Sugar jacket.
