UFC fighter Tony Ferguson was arrested in Hollywood for a DUI on Sunday early in the morning.
Ferguson was arrested at 2 a.m. according to police records after he crashed his truck into two cars parked outside a nightclub.
While the bond was initially set at $30,000, “El Cucuy” has now reportedly released it at 12:12 local time on his own bond. This meant that he was released without having to post bail, based on a written undertaking to appear in court when called upon.
According to reports, Tony Ferguson and another passenger inside the van escaped without suffering serious injuries despite their car overturning after the accident.
Angels’ KTLA-TV I reported that Ferguson’s truck had hit four cars instead of just two at the 1400 block of Wilcox Street. One person was reportedly injured and taken to a nearby hospital.
Correction: Tony Ferguson was a former UFC Lightweight Champion.
Correction: Tony Ferguson was a former UFC Lightweight Champion.
authorities told the media TMZ that Tony Ferguson was “extremely uncooperative” when taken into custody and refused to take a sobriety test. The former UFC interim lightweight champion was reportedly found by cops reeking of alcohol and with bloodshot eyes.
One of the cars Ferguson hit, a Mercedes, is said to have belonged to a rapper named Cash Gotti.
This is definitely not a good look for Ferguson, even more so a look at the crossroads he’s currently at in terms of his UFC career. ‘El Cucuy’ has now given up a five match streak, never to regain his momentum after suffering a brutal defeat against Justin Gaethje at UFC 249 in 2020.
