Director Shekhar Kapoor, who has directed films like Masoom, Mr India and Bandit Queen, among others, has once again spoken out about suffering from dyslexia, after first opening up about it in 2018 on social media. In a new Twitter post, Kapur shared that he has now developed his fondness for numbers with the help of artificial intelligence (AI).
Kapoor, who often shares life lessons with his fans on Twitter, wrote, “Life lessons: I am totally dyslexic. And finding more and more artists and music poets are dyslexic too. You? With #AI, I developed a love for visual mathematics, But at school I grew up hating math… Of course! With #dyslexia the numbers just didn’t make sense.”
People on social media expressed their support and appreciation for him. One Twitter user commented, “Sir, what I lost with dyslexia, I gained with creativity! Who could forget Phoolan Devi, Mr. India and now WLGTDWI?? You were, are and always will be a true legend!! 🙏😊.” Another added, “Kudos to awareness and conversion to Unfathomable creativity with a rare sensitivity!”

In 2018, Shekhar Kapoor also opened up about having Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). He was grateful that he was not sent to a private school, as that would hinder his creativity. The director had shared, “Life Lessons: I’m totally dyslexic and have ADHD. I don’t know what else! Thank God there were no private schools for kids like me when I was growing up. They would have defeated all the rebellion in me. They certainly didn’t.” He wouldn’t have made any films. Or they would have been creative.”
