Karnataka State Elections 2023

Voting for the Karnataka Assembly elections will be held on May 10. A total of 224 assembly seats in Karnataka will go to the polls, the results of which will be announced on May 13.

Eligible voters in Karnataka must exercise their right to vote and reach the designated polling booth on election day.

But before you cast your vote, it is important to know which assembly constituency you belong to and which candidates are nominated from that constituency to which the political party belongs.

The voter can know his constituency by following the following simple steps:

  • Step 1: Visit the official National Voter Service portal. https://nvsp.in/
  • Step 2: Click on “Search Electoral Register” after which a new webpage will open.
  • Step 3: Now select “Search by EPIC Number” and proceed to enter your EPIC Number, State Name, and the selected captcha code.
  • The fourth step: Hit the search button and all your details along with the constituency name will be displayed on the screen.

You can find your EPIC number. or the voter ID card number on your voter ID card.

Once you get to know your constituency, you can also find out the name and other details of the contesting candidates from there. A candidate elected from a constituency is responsible for the development and welfare of that area. Hence, it is advised to make a wise decision by knowing the candidate first.

To find out the candidates who are contesting the elections from your constituency in the association, you can follow the steps below.

  • Step 1: Visit the official website of the Elections Commission of India (ECI).
  • Step 2: Click on Candidate Statement and a new page will open.
  • Step 3: Now select the election type and country and also choose the assembly constituency from the list.

The fourth step: Click “Search” and all the candidates’ names along with their photos will be displayed on the screen.

You can also download an affidavit for each candidate in your constituency. The affidavit contains information about the candidate including name, political party, declared assets, educational qualifications, occupation, and criminal cases.

You can also access the information in the Know the Candidate (KYC) application. Simply download the app from the Google PlayStore or App Store and search for candidates by entering their state and constituency name. The app also provides Candidates Affidavits, Photos, Criminal History Status, Counter Affidavit, and Nominations Status.
