Amrit Kaal is the ‘Kartavia Kaal’ for every citizen of the country to dedicate 100 per cent in his role and at the same time to expand our thoughts and responsibilities for the benefit of society and country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Wednesday that the country’s health services are undergoing a “rapid transformation”, emphasizing that in the past nine years, poor people have realized that medical facilities are within their easy reach.

The Chief Minister said the Ayushman Bharat Scheme played an important role in it and opened the door not only to government hospitals but also to private medical facilities for the poor.

He said the scheme has provided the poor crores of rupees needed for health treatment and medicines, while laying the foundation for the Global Charitable Specialist Hospital and other projects by the Brahma Kumaris at Abu Tariq in Sirohi district.

The International Charitable Specialty Hospital will be spread over an area of 50 feddans. It would offer world-class medical facilities and would prove particularly beneficial to the poor and tribal peoples of the region. Emphasizing the development of health infrastructure in the country, Prime Minister Modi said that 150 medical colleges were opened in the 10 years before 2014, while 300 new medical colleges were established in the last nine years.

It also highlighted the increase in the number of MBBS and PG seats in medical colleges. There were 50,000 MBBS seats before 2014 in the country, but today the number has increased to more than 1 lakh, he said, adding that PG seats have also increased to 65,000 now as against 30,000 before 2014.

“If the intention is virtuous and there is a sense of community service, then such decisions are also taken and implemented,” Modi said.

The Prime Minister said that social and spiritual organizations in India have a huge role to play in Amrit Kaal.

“For every citizen of the country to dedicate 100 percent in his role and at the same time to expand our ideas and responsibilities for the benefit of society and the nation,” Amrit Kal Kartavia Kal said.

He added, “While we do what we do with full dedication, we also have to think about what we can do more for our country.”
