The PUNE city cyber crime cell has captured a 27-year-old suspect in a case where a 60-year-old doctor from Pune was cheated to the tune of Rs. The suspect was in the custody of the Agra Police after being arrested by them for a cyber crime.

In 2021, the Pune City Police Cybercrime Cell recorded a case where a 60-year-old famous doctor in Pune was cheated out of Rs 2.01 crore between 2013 and 2021. The suspects, who had been in contact with him for eight years, kept taking money. under the pretext of giving him various insurance policies with very high returns and other lucrative offers.

The Pune Police Cybercrime Cell got concrete leads in the case last month when they checked the identities of the suspects in the case. Last month, the Cybercrime Cell of Agra Police secured the detention of three suspects, Sandeep Kumar, Sahib Khan, and Tugih Khan. On Tuesday, the cell secured the custody of the prime suspect in the case which has been identified as Shehwan Salim Ahmed (27), a resident of Laxmi Nagar, Delhi. On Wednesday, the media reported the details of the four arrests.
