Mammootty begins filming for crime drama Bazooka directed by debutant Deeno Dennis

The makers announced on Wednesday that the southern superstar Mammootty has started shooting for his upcoming movie “Bazooka” in Ernakulam, Kerala.

The Malayalam-language crime drama is being directed by new director Dino Dennis, son of veteran screenwriter Kalloor Dennis.

Mammootty said he was immediately drawn to “Bazooka”, which has a taut script and well-rounded characters.

“It’s nice to come across a script that surprises you and catches your interest right away. “Bazooka” is an action movie but also a game of intelligence and features strong, well-etched characters.

“I am looking forward to the filming process because I know my character will take me on a very interesting journey,” the 71-year-old actor said in a statement.

Dennis said it was a dream come true for him as he had always aspired to work with an on screen idol.

“I am thrilled because it is the privilege of a lifetime to direct someone of his stature and experience. Together, we all hope to create a magical film and a film for the ages because Mammootty sir and his fans deserve nothing less than a cinematic achievement,” said the director.

The film is produced by Yoodlee Films, the film studio arm of Saregama India Limited, and co-produced by Theater of Dreams.
