The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office has brought new charges against Jonathan Majors, star of the upcoming movie Loki season 2, in the ongoing assault case. However, after the latest court hearing, his defense team slammed the DA’s case and claimed to have “overwhelming evidence” that the alleged victim was lying:

“The attorney general has provided us with overwhelming evidence that the woman is lying, including video evidence showing nothing happened, particularly where she claimed it was.”

Jonathan Majors’ attorney, Priya Choudhury, has accused the DA of a “witch-hunt” against her client and has maintained that there are no new charges against him. Chaudhry further alleged that the case was a “blatant double standard” and accused white officers at the scene of ignoring Majors’ injuries caused by his ex-girlfriend and taunting him:

Rather than dismiss the allegations in the face of the woman’s apparent lies, the DA amended the charges to match the woman’s new lies. To be clear, there are no new charges against Mr. Majors.

And she continued:

Now, we have more video evidence of his innocence, but we’re reluctant to share it, for fear that the DA will tip the woman into changing her story again.”

In addition, several women have come forward with allegations of abuse, further intensifying public scrutiny of the case. Despite the defense team’s claims of innocence, the public will have to wait until the next hearing on June 13 to learn more about the case.
