WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg recently accepted full responsibility for former superstar Rusev’s infamous story.
Mero, a current AEW superstar, previously worked for WWE as Rusev. He basically didn’t have an impressive run during his time at the Stamford-based company. However, the former United States Champion had an organic relationship with fans, which upset the organization. World Wrestling Entertainment destroyed his character by involving him in illogical feuds.
“Rusev Day” has come and gone in WWE, with the alliance of Rusev and Aiden English proving to be an important attraction in the organization. However, the creators saw it differently, so development was stopped.
Road Dogg, the head writer for SmackDown at the time, discussed Rusev’s previous storyline “Oh! you do not know” Podcast. The Hall of Famer admitted he butchered the story.
“The iron was hot. (But) to say we didn’t strike isn’t true, because we wrote it. We wrote the Rusev Day segment that started it all. We wrote it in such a way that it would be something. When I became one, we didn’t go through with it. Look, that’s a failure, but it’s just a failure. My creativity in pro wrestling,” said Doug. (H/T – Ringside News)
The 53-year-old is upset with Twitter for removing the blue tick from his profile. Before Elon Musk buys the social network, celebrities can get a blue check mark to help fans distinguish between legitimate and fake profiles.
To get a blue tick, you have to verify that the account belongs to the celebrity in question. However, after Elon takes over, anyone can get a blue checkmark on the platform by paying for membership.
While others paid the price for their blue tags, WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg recently took to Twitter to express his anger at losing his verified status on the social network.
“Why don’t I have a blue check anymore? You know what, Nevermind!!” he wrote.
Check out his tweet below:
Why don’t I have a blue check anymore? Ya know what, Nevermind!!

It will be exciting to see what the 53-year-old legend brings to the creative table in the near future.
