Dr. Sudhir Kumar, Neurologist at Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad, has taken to Twitter to address the emotional turmoil students are going through during their CBSE exam results. That’s what his Twitter thread said.
CBSE Class 10 & 12 Board Result 2023 was announced earlier today. This year, the overall pass rate is 87.33%, reflecting a decrease of 5.38% compared to the previous year.
Students across the country undergo a flurry of emotions once the results are announced – ranging from joy and relief for those who achieve their desired results, to disappointment, sadness or frustration for those whose expectations are not met. Each student’s reaction varies depending on their personal goals and aspirations and the importance they place on academic achievements.
Keeping this in mind, Dr. Sudhir Kumar, Neurologist practicing at Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad, shared his CBSE Class 12 score sheet from 1989 on Twitter in March 2023.
In the topic, he said that about 17 students appeared for the CBSE class 12 board exams this year.

He wrote: “You may be anxiously awaiting results. Here I share my 34-year-old score sheet. Physics Theory Emphasis Marks: 23/70.” He then went on to explain how he expected to get a score of 67-68 out of 70 in Physics, but due to an unexplained error, only got passing marks.
But, he adds, “despite the disappointment, it ultimately didn’t have any major impact.”
Dr. Sudhir tells that he was able to sit for various medical college entrance exams. He attended CMC Vellore where he successfully met the qualification requirements – achieving 50% or higher marks in each subject of class 12 – thanks to his practical degrees.
Finally, he wrote in a reassuring tweet, “Grades matter but only to a certain extent. So, my honest advice to students is to study well and do well in Entrance Examinations (NEET/JEE) or any other postgraduate. Future does not depend on class 12 marks (alone).
