Jackie Buntan was approached to produce one of the best performances of her career at the recently concluded ONE Fight Night 10 event.
The Filipino-American dynamo turned heads inside the sold-out First Bank Center in Broomfield, Colorado, on May 5, when she made quick work of Australian firecracker Diandra Martin in a 131-pound Muay Thai fight.
She finished their contest with just seconds left in the opening round, connecting with a left hook to the body and a right hand letting Aussie go down and out.
It was the first knockout win of her two-year ONE career, and it sure gave the Boxing Works athlete plenty of confidence as she hunted for her next prey.
While there are plenty of competitors or designations on Jackie Buntan’s to-do list, the American-based fighter wants to capture each of the division belts available, the inaugural kickboxing gold and the Muay Thai crown.
In an interview with ONE Championship, Jackie Pontan said:
“I want to become a two-sport world champion in Muay Thai and kickboxing.”
The promotion has not announced any plans regarding the kickboxing world title. But Buntan knows her performance over Martin, along with her other promotional victories, should see her as a worthy contender.
Since debuting with a hard-fought win over Ekaterina Vandareva at ONE on TNT IV, the Southern California native has been nothing short of stunning. She has outlasted some of the top competitors on the ONE Championship roster, with her only defeat coming against Muay Thai queen Smilla Sundell.
North American viewers can re-watch their final fight at ONE Fight Night 10 via free replay on Prime Video.
