After India witnessed one of the deadliest train accidents at Balasore in Odisha which killed more than 288 people and injured nearly 900 others, a large number of people came out voluntarily to donate blood to the injured in the horrific accident.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said he was “really proud” of the people for their tremendous efforts in relief operations and blood donations for the victims.
In a video message, he said: “… I would also like to thank the youth for their responsiveness in donating blood to the victims, this is how people should behave in a difficult time like this.”
Local residents and youth volunteered and worked tirelessly around the clock to assist in search and rescue operations at the accident site.

Apart from the volunteers, a total of about 200 ambulances, including 167 out of the fleet’s 108 fleet and more than 20 government aircraft, have been deployed to the site, along with 45 mobile health teams, officials said. years.
In addition, an additional 50 physicians have been mobilized alongside a team of 25 physicians from the SCB.
The derailment of the Coromandel Express caused one of the fatal railway accidents in India, government sources said, adding that no case of vandalism was found at first sight. Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the accident site this afternoon.
The train crash occurred near Pahanaga Bazar station in Balasore district, about 250 km south of Kolkata and 170 km north of Bhubaneswar at around 7 pm on Friday, prompting the Ministry of Railways to order an investigation.
