The deputy head of Damoh district, Amit Bajaj, claimed responsibility for the attack in ink. The incident was condemned by Sharma’s Madhya Pradesh unit chief, BJP unit chief
An official said the police had registered a case against three BJP employees after they allegedly threw ink at the District Education Officer (DEO) in Damoh in Madhya Pradesh while accusing him of favoring a private school after a dispute over headscarf being part of her uniform. Wednesday. The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon when the DEO SK Mishra vehicle was moving outside the office campus.
The deputy head of Damoh district, Amit Bajaj, claimed responsibility for the attack in ink. The incident was condemned by Sharma’s Madhya Pradesh unit chief, BJP unit chief.
The state education department last week suspended the recognition of Ganga Jamuna Senior Secondary School after a controversy over a poster showing girls, including Hindu students, wearing veil-like headscarves as part of their uniform. Two students at the school alleged that the Hindu students were forced to wear headscarves and perform namaz in the school.
Initially, the DEO gave clean chit to the school, but the district collector later formed an investigation committee on the directions of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. After dumping ink on the DEO, Bajaj alleged that Mishra tried to suppress the problem even though he was aware of the illegal activities in the school.
After the incident, BJP President Pritam Singh Lodhi issued a show cause notice to Bajaj, local employee Monty Raikwar, and another captain for their involvement.
Superintendent of Police Rakesh Kumar Singh said on Wednesday following a complaint filed by DEO Mishra, a case has been registered against Amit Bajaj, Monti Raikwar and Sandeep Sharma for obstructing a government official from performing his duties and assault with intent to insult the person.
In response to the incident, Mishra said that Bajaj is a contractor and his bill for maintenance work for a school is still pending due to late deposit and lapse of funds for maintenance work, which angered him. Mishra also said that he had not conducted any investigation into the school case and allegedly had no direct involvement with it.
