The 34-year-old deGrum, who has not played since April 28 due to a sore right elbow, was moved to the 60-day injured list on Monday.
However, further examination revealed the need for surgery to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament in the elbow, which means the often injured pitcher will be missed for the rest of this year and possibly throughout next season.
