No new deaths have been reported and the death toll stands at 5,31,884, according to data updated at 8 a.m.
India recorded 214 new coronavirus infections, while active coronavirus cases fell to 2,831 from 3,001, according to data from the Federal Ministry of Health updated on Wednesday.

The tally of the Covid case has been recorded at Rs 4.49 crore (4,49,92,094). The ministry said active cases now constitute 0.01 percent of the total infections, while the national recovery rate from COVID-19 was recorded at 98.81 percent.
The number of people who recovered from the disease rose to 4,44,57,379 and the death rate was recorded at 1.18%. According to the ministry’s website, 220.66 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide vaccination campaign.
