A 20-year-old engineering student was found dead in his university’s hostel room here Saturday in a suspected suicide, police said.
According to the police, Vivek was a fourth-class student in the electronics and communications department of a private engineering college in the city. A native of Davanger, the young man did not respond to his roommates’ cries to open the door.
“This morning he committed suicide by hanging himself from a fan while his other colleagues went to breakfast,” the police said.
At about 10 am his roommates knocked on the door but he wouldn’t open it. Police added that when the door opened, they saw him hanging from the fan.
He was taken to Yelahanca State Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
