Tanishka hails from a middle-class family in Narnool, Haryana, and got the top rank after pursuing her studies for the NEET exam at a coaching institute in Kota, Rajasthan. She also appeared in the JEE Main Examination 2022 in which she scored 99.50 per cent.

Her parents, Krishna Kumar and Sarita Kumari are both teachers in government schools and according to her, they have been her pillar throughout her journey towards success.

Speaking to the media, Tanishka says she used to spend six to seven hours self-study other than study and training classes, and she took weekly and monthly mock tests. She says that a NEET student should prepare for the exam right from the first day, and it is also necessary to make sure that all the basic concepts are clear.

Tanishka aspires to become a doctor because she feels the profession will allow her to help those in need. “I want to specialize in cardiology, neurology and oncology,” she told PTI, adding that she is interested in pursuing her MBBS from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi.

Vatsa Ashish Batra from Delhi ranked second in NEET exams. He says to succeed in NEET, one needs to work hard and consistency is the key. He also points out that error analysis helped him understand his mistakes and correct them in the future.

Although his parents have always supported him, he says it was his older brother, a third-year MBBS student, who motivated him to pass the exam. I would study for an hour and a half followed by 15-20 minute intervals. I meditated every day which helped me calm down and overcome stress during exams,” he says during a conversation with a YouTube channel.
