The Denver Nuggets coaching staff deserves much credit for the team’s performance in the NBA Finals against the Miami Heat. Against Erik Spoelstra, considered by many to be the best in the league, Denver’s off-the-cuff tactic proved stellar.

Malone replaced Melvin Hunt and became head coach of the Denver Nuggets in 2015.

David Edelman

David Adelman is the chief assistant coach for the Denver Nuggets. He joined the team starting in the 2018-19 season. Adelman began coaching in 2011 under his father, Rick Adelman, as a player development coach for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Like David Adelman, Ryan Saunders is the son of another longtime NBA coach, the late Flip Saunders. Young Saunders entered the coaching world via the Washington Wizards from 2009 to 2014. He was hired by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the summer of 2014 and is there until 2021.

Ryan Bowen had a short career in the NBA. He played for the New Orleans Hornets (2007-09) and the OKC Thunder in 2009. The Denver Nuggets hired him as an assistant coach from 2011-2013 before the Sacramento Kings made him assistant director of player development.

John Beckett
