An official said on Sunday that one worker died and another was seriously injured in an accident at Guwahati refinery. The official added that the accident occurred at the refinery project site in the city’s Nonmatie district on Saturday.
Both were working in the shoring when mounds of earth fell on them and they were buried under it.
“The duo was transferred to a multi-speciality hospital in the city,” the refinery said in a statement.
“While Abd al-Karim died of his wounds, Abd al-Malik is undergoing treatment,” the statement said.
Guwahati Refinery management formed a high level committee to investigate the accident. In the meantime, the refinery has begun a movement to support the family of those killed.”
