Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday blasted the YSRCP government in Andhra Pradesh, saying it had done nothing but corruption and criticized it for alleged farmer suicides in the state.
Addressing a public meeting here to mark the ninth anniversary of the BJP-led NDA government, Shah also commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ensuring internal security and pride for Indians across the world.
There is a government working here (headed by) Jagan Mohan Reddy. “This government in the past four years has done nothing but corruption and scandals,” the veteran BJP leader charged.
Questioning the YSRCP’s claims of being a farmer-friendly government, Shah claimed that the state had the third highest number of farmer suicides. He added that Chief Minister Reddy should be “ashamed” of this.
Claiming that Prime Minister Modi had ensured the country’s public security, Shah said soon after “Pakistan-inspired” terrorists who used to carry out attacks in the country launched attacks in Uri and Pulwama, India retaliated by entering Pakistan to carry out surgical strikes and air strikes and “retaliate against them”.
In the nine years of NDA rule, India’s stature has been growing globally and the prime minister is greeted with chants of “Modi, Modi” wherever he goes. Shah added that this was an acknowledgment of the 130 crore Indians, including those in Andhra Pradesh.
He also accused that corruption had occurred in the amount of several thousand billion rupees during the 2004-14 Congress-led UPA regime.
