The makers of Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming action-thriller revealed the teaser for the film on Sunday. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film stars Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Tripti Dimri, and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles. It will hit theaters on August 11th.
The short video begins with Ranbir entering with an ax in hand while some masked men are waiting for him. He is seen wearing a white kurta and dhoti, and we get a quick glimpse of his face. From the looks of it, Ranbir appears to be playing a tough and brutal gangster. While Ranbir fights off the men alone, we hear a spirited Punjabi number playing in the background.
Ranbir’s epic transformation and his intense portrayal of humor impressed the viewers. Someone commented, “Awesome, great and great performance sir. Mass entertainment.” Another added, “When a director like Sandeep Vanga and an actor like Ranbir Kapoor collaborate… a masterpiece is made….” A Ranbir fan added, “Ranbir Kapoor will definitely win all possible awards for Animal.”
Earlier, the makers released an animal poster featuring Ranbir. He was seen holding an ax under his arm while lighting a cigarette as blood trickled down his shoulder. According to reports, Ranbir will play a gangster in the film. Some leaked videos and photos from the movie’s sets have given a sneak peek at Ranbir’s character. In one of the leaked videos, Ranbir is shown clean-shaven and wearing a uniform.
In an interview with Good Times, Ranbir Kapoor revealed his reaction after listening to Animal. He said, “I had to go to my bathroom and look at myself in the mirror, and I felt scared. I’ve never felt fear in a personal story.”
The film’s producer, Mourad Khetani, had earlier said that Animal has “larger-than-life” visuals. It’s a challenging movie. But we have a great team. Sandeep wrote the story and narrated it to Ranbir and Anil Kapoor, they loved it and they agreed to join it. It has action, emotion, heroism, and larger-than-life visuals. We have director and actor Rashmika from (Southern Region) and we will release it there.
Ranbir was last seen in the romantic drama Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, opposite actor Shraddha Kapoor. The film, which was directed by Luv Ranjan, was a box office hit.
