Actor and writer Mangal Dhillon passed away on Sunday in Ludhiana, Punjab state. As per reports, he was suffering from cancer. His family members took to his social media to inform fans of his death.
“Aaj sadde Harman dear Mangal Dhillon ji sanu saariyan no goodbye ke ki ki kalan kar raha hai… waheguru ji ohna nu sachkhand vich apne charna vich niwas bakshe .. (And today, our dear Mangal Dhillon said his last farewell to us. May God bless us with him), ”the note reads.
Actor Yashpal Sharma told indianexpress.com that Mangal Dhillon had been ill for some time. He was taken to the Cancer Hospital in Ludhiana, where he breathed his last this morning. He also expressed his grief over the death of the actor through social media, writing “Mangal Dhillon ji RIP”.
Having started his career with theater in Punjab, Mangal Dhillon has been a part of several TV shows and movies. Some of his noteworthy works include Puniyad, Junon, Khon Bhari Maang, and Vishwatma, among others. He was last seen in the series Doordarshan Noorjahan.
Mangal Dhillon also dabbled in direction and was a spiritual catalyst.
He was survived by his wife, the painter Reto Dillon.
