Inspired by his wife’s social work, Ex-IAS Officer Arun Kumar offers free UPSC training to Ghats aspirants in Patna.

aOn the banks of the Ganges in Patna, former IAS officer Arun Kumar runs a free coaching class for UPSC aspirants. These classes are attended by about 3,500 students.

Inspired by his wife Ritu Jaiswal’s social work, Arun quits his job to help students who cannot afford to attend expensive coaching classes. To save on the cost of infrastructure, he settled on these outdoor sessions, which he conducts every morning.

“Our mission is to create a learning environment so that students can study together and become sources of guidance for each other,” says Aaron.

Arun had prepared himself for the IAS exam and belonged to the class of 1994.

Today, many of his students have successfully passed the exam.
